What is Respite?
Enhancing quality of life is a priority at Heritage Christian
Services—not only for those we serve with developmental
disabilities, but also for their caregivers and families.
The respite programs at Heritage Christian Services offer
short-term care for children and adults with special needs,
providing their caregivers the gift of time to devote to
other areas in their lives.
Families can rest assured, knowing
their loved one is being cared for by a trained professional
staff who will support their physical, emotional and
behavioral needs.

RESPITEWOOD & RESPITELODGE
Respitewood and Respitelodge offer short-term support in a
home-like setting to individuals with special needs. Stays can
range from a day to a week, or even longer. The time can
be spent visiting family and friends, enjoying an evening
out or taking a much-needed vacation.
As a “guest” in one of our respite homes, your loved one
will be able to take part in a wide range of activities such
as baseball games, picnics in the park, shopping, movies
and more.
At HCS, our respite homes are staffed by caring and
supportive people who are trained in CPR, first aid and
specialized care for those with developmental disabilities.
Anyone with a developmental disability, living at home with a parent or guardian, is eligible to make reservations at Respitelodge or Respitewood. There is NO COST for those eligible for Care at Home funding, the Home and Community-Based Services Waiver or Community Service Plan funding. Private pay is also accepted.
