There are many opportunities for groups to volunteer with Heritage Christian Services. Whether you're part of a scout troop, service club, or a group of co-workers, there's an opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities.
Many companies throughout Western New York sponsor "Volunteer Days" where employees come out to one or several of our homes or programs and spend the day washing windows, staining fences and planting flowers.
In addition, there are several programs for youth. Explorers is a program that teaches leadership to teens and adults aged 14-21, and allows participants to explore future career opportunities. For kids aged 7-14, KITE (Kids Inspired; Teens Empowered) is a community service program that teachers youngsters the benefit of volunteering, including increased self-esteem and community awareness. One past KITE project was to create Easter baskets and deliver them to kids at the Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong.
