The Life Center is driven to provide you with the highest quality care in an outpatient clinical setting – and to make your therapy experience uniquely genuine and customized to your needs.
Furthermore, Unity Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation began operating from the Pieters Family Life Center on August 13, 2007. Unity offers a full range of outpatient physical therapy services, including orthopedic, sports, industrial, neurological, general physical therapy; all are available by referral.
Unity currently operates three clinics throughout the Rochester area, but the Pieters Family Life Center offers a central location convenient to patients from both the east and west sides of Rochester and its the only one with the benefit of the HydroWorx 2000 Therapy Pool.
Our therapists are fully prepared to provide you with a combination of traditional and creative patient-centered preventive, rehabilitative and performance enhancement therapies:

Your doctor is the starting point to determine whether physical, occupational or other alternative therapy is right for you. In your examination, your doctor can assess how pain may be affecting your life and determine if a referral to the Life Center for treatment is appropriate.
Outpatient therapy services are offered throughout the Life Center, and may include a variety of interdisciplinary treatment options. Whether manual therapy, aquatic therapy, orthopedic or neurological retraining, Life Center therapists can help you find relief from a variety of conditions.
Our staff of therapists will work with you to develop a rehabilitation program structured around specific needs and conditions – from treatment for simple back, shoulder and knee pain, to care and prevention of sports injuries, to comprehensive rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, surgery, or joint reconstruction or replacement.
You also have the option to go directly to one of our physical therapists for care – find out by contacting the Life Center. We work with all major insurance carriers depending upon your health needs.
HydroWorx 2000 Pool - A quantum leap in aquatic therapy and fitness
Exclusive to this area, the Life Center’s HydroWorx 2000 therapy pool provides therapists and athletic trainers with the ultimate in treatment versatility.
Complete with an adjustable floor, powerful jet system and variable speed underwater treadmill, the aquatic pool satisfies the contrasting demands of rehabilitation patients as well as elite athletes.
- Adjustable Floor with Variable Water Depth. The entire pool floor is fully adjustable for safe access without ladders or steps. Patients simply walk or are wheeled onto the floor and lowered to any depth, up to 6 ft.
- Variable Speed Treadmill. The entire 8’x12’ floor doubles as a variable speed treadmill, whose surface has a cushioned low-impact design with excellent traction and safe, smooth speed increments to 8.5 mph.
- Large Treatment Area. Accommodates 4 - 6 people during treadmill workouts or therapy sessions, with two adjustable, industrial strength resistance jets for sports performance, training, up-stream swimming, therapy or deep tissue massage.
- Cameras & Monitoring System. Three fixed underwater video cameras enhance the pool’s diagnostic capacity.
